The Heart Behind the Stitch and the Soul
I didn't grow up with a needle in my hand or a sketchbook in my lap. My journey into textiles started later in life, but once I discovered the magic of turning a flat piece of fabric into a three-dimensional form, I was enamoured. It wasn't just a hobby; it became my sanctuary.
Creating is my outlet—it’s how I quiet the world and let my creative juices take over.
Beyond the 'Fast" and the 'Familiar'
When my daughter was born, I found myself making more than ever. But I soon realised I was falling into the trap of 'quick sewing'—simply replacing fast fashion with fast making. It didn't sit right. Today, I’ve found my balance by working exclusively with surplus and deadstock fabrics. I prefer the beauty of limited runs and the story behind a 'rescued' piece of cloth. It makes every garment I sew feel like a tiny, intentional rebellion against the mass-produced.
Curiosity Over Perfection
The workshops at were born from a deep-seated urge to share this spark with others. But here’s the truth: I’m not here to teach you how to be a perfect artist. I can’t draw a traditional portrait or paint a realistic landscape—and I don't want to.
I am obsessed with the 'alchemy'—the way alcohol ink dances across silk and the raw, unpredictable beauty of a botanical eco-print. I am still learning the secrets of the plants and the pigments every single day, and that’s exactly where I want to be.
Why I Do What I Do
I create because I have to. I teach because I want you to feel that same rush of wonder when a bundle is unwrapped or a new colour bleeds into the silk. I’m here to guide you through the process, share my curiosity, and show you that you don't need to be an 'artist' to create something that moves you.
I’m Sadie, and I’m just getting started.
